that is not cool. guys
* You also know who Fuschia Nemo and Peyore Razzmatazz Squirt are.
*You know how awsome the number 100 is
*You being high in school is NOT the same as your friends being high in school
*You want a pink pump
*You know what a ping is and get this look
*you know that 504 is NOT an area code
*You know all kinds of weird colors/color names from being on CWD. (Thanks Kier! Me ♥s Virinian Light and Sulu!!)
*You get excited when your pump company comes out with new updates or colors
*You say that you feel ‘high’ in public and then wonder why people around you give you weird looks
*You’ve been known to often say “this one time, at diabetes camp…”
*You think regular soda tastes completely disgusting
*You know what the terms A1C, diabetic ketoacidosis, glucagon, basal/bolus, and endocrinologist mean
*You know the amount of carbohydrates in basically every food known to man
*You have a favorite flavor of glucose tabs (and you know what they are)
*You notice a friend’s been drinking a lot and you automatically assume they must be an undiagnosed diabetic
*You’re parents ask how you’re doing and you tell them your blood sugar
*You have test strips all over you purse, car, and bedroom my parents get so mad at me for this!
*You hear something beep and you wonder if it’s your cell phone or insulin pump
*You think it’s funny seeing the look on people’s fabces when you give an injection in public restroom
*You think of blood sugar not bull sh*t when you see the initials BS
*You use being low as an excuse when you do something dumb, but get extremely offended if you're in a bad mood and someone tells you to test your sugar i hate that sooo much.
*You are abnormally good at multiplying by 15. Thank you carb counting.
Oh MAN, SO TRUE! I ALWAYS double check people's electronic devices clipped to their waists to see what they are and if they are wearing a pump. One time, this guy in front of me at Subway actually WAS wearing a pump, so I tapped him on the shoulder, pointed at his pump, and said "diabetics unite!!"
*You feel an instant bond to any stranger who tells you that he or she is a type 1 diabetic.
I think it's funny how people without Diabetes thinks it's soo tragic but we're all here making jokes and stuff. =D
you start sqealing in publix because there's a new meter(yeah, i did that today)
Humph!you think it's funny?!?!
I did that today too, when my free accu chek aviva & multi clix came in the mail. I was like a little kid on christmas
I'm a guy. Guys think all stuff lke that is funny. Give me a break!!
im guilty of doing that. one touch came out with blue and purple mini's and i managed to get a purple somehow?!? i was so freaking excited
WHAT?!?! THERE'S BLUE AND PURPLE?!?!?! hehe...i have pink, green and black....now i want purple....... i wonder if this means animas is going to have a purple pump..............
ETA: i can't find them....can you post a link, or are they just not on the net yet?
*When you go to a restaurant, tell the waiter(ess) that you have diabetes and need to eat and she seates you immediately without any wait (even if there are millions of people in line)
*When you've been waiting forever at the 2nd window at dairy queen for your chicken strips and you're hungry because you haven't eaten all day, so you test your sugar and you're 135, and decide to go in and tell the people that you're D and you're bg minus 100 points because you are freakin hungry and want your food!!! OH and you get a free blizzard to bring up that '35'... Okay now I feel guilty!
Ha ha! It's fun, isn't it?
I've done that before.
You open a black incospicous case in public and start screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOO flying purple cows noooooooooooo!"
and everyone stares than you sniff in dignitly and go "I forgot something very important leave me alone!"
when you find you have forgotten your strips but have the meter.
I've done that but i had the strips and no lancet!
That's when you resort to poking yourself with some other random object, a syringe, etc. or giving yourself an intentional papercut to test...
