Years living with D

I don't know if a poll like this has been done before..
Just thought I'd do a poll on how long everyone has been dealing with D.. I know there are some that have stuck around this group for a while, but I think a lot of newly dx people come, get advise and then leave, or do people out grow the 'need' for CWD?.. If you're close to your anniversary choose the year ann. coming up.

 

Two years, five months, one week and four days. Not that I'm counting.

 

3 years, almost exactly. I guess I could have waited to vote until about 5:15 this evening. But it was 3 yrs ago today...10/14/05.

 

Two years and I will never grow out of CWD. I may not always have questions. But I need the support every once in a while. I come here and learn thru reading the post. Especially about illness which is something we have never really experienced...(knock on wood)

 

Isabella was dx'd on June 1, 2004.. She is now 6, so I guess we have been "living" with D for almost 4 1/2 years now! I say "living" with because technically no one would choose to live with D, it sort of invited itself into our home. Like the happy little unwanted guest!

 

I don't know what to vote. D has been a part of my world since I was born, because of my dad. But when your child has D you deal with something totally different than when your parent has it (at least I think so). So I guess I will vote 6 years since Sam has had it for that long.

 

There wasn't one for over 35 years, although I've dealt with it longer as well because of my grandfather, which would make it 49

 

I put three years, its been nearly 4, Phillip was dxd in Jan 2005.
I think I'll always be around on cwd. Even when I don't post much i read a lot on here.

 

My brother was dx'd the year I was born. However, for me, it is way different having a child with D then it is having a sibling with D. The major stress of D rested with my parents (my mom) and not me. Liv's been dx'd for 2 years and 5 months.

 

Almost 5 1/2 years for us...

 

Almost a year for us-wow I can't believe I'm saying that!
10 months ago I could hardly imagine next week let alone a whole year.

 

6 years in December, but I voted 5 because its still a couple of months away.

I voted 4 years, Chell is on 4.5 years.

 

Ethan was DX on Thanksgiving Eve 2006. We are almost 2 years into this.

 

Dec. 28, 2007...right between Christmas and New Year's. So it's been almost a year for us too. It's going to be a sad anniversary, I think.

 

6 months today, dx April 14th of this year.

 

32 years if I count growing up with D siblings. But it's been 10 years since Nikki was dx.

 

I guess I'm the newbie here. We have been dealing with d for 2 1/2 months. I do enjoy coming here and getting support and giving input.

 

We just had Jessi's 6 yr anniversary, right before we had her 7th birthday party

 

It is in my world as long as I know André so it's something like 8 years. Even if it is completely different when your child get's it at least there is the advantage from the beginning that you have great general knowledge (if you are interested) of the disease and stuff surounding it.
