I'm new to this site. I'm 18 years old and got diagnosed with T1 when I was 14. My little brother got diagnosed when he was 5 and he's 17 now!

So...I like the idea of a diabetes forum. Because I know hardly anyone who has T1. My brother, yes, but he doesn't especially like to talk about it.

Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself!

Well Im glad that you did:) Youll find lots of adults in here with Type 1 to talk to and share info with. And we parents enjoy talking to the adults with type 1 as well. We can learn alot about what our childrens lives will be like as they grow

    Thanks!
Gosh, I hardly consider myself an adult! I'm finishing up my senior year of high school...it's hard to wrap my head around the idea that I'm really 18!

Hello! I have a 10 year old daughter and a 15 year old daughter with D (and a non-d 16 year old). My girls are good supports for each other, but definetly love to find friends their own age with D!

Hello Briar-Rose, I hope you and your brother are doing well with your diabetes. I have been Type 1 for 64 years and I am very healthy, with no complications. If we have good comtrol, we can have long, healthy lives.

Yes, I did used to be on Diabetes Teen Talk, Emily! I remember you!

I'm from the Rio Grande Valley, don't know if anyone knows where that is. I don't really know of any type 1 diabetics from there, though!

Welcome. My son is also 18 and is in 12th grade. He was dx'd just a few days after his 16th birthday.

I hope you stay around. We would love to get to know you.
