At what age did your child start using it?

What made you consider using it?

Who decided it may be a good idea to use it - you or the endo - and why?

    Any side-effects?

Why isn't it offered as an option more often? I had never heard of it til I read about it here.

In what specific cases is it the route to take?

    Thank you!!:cwds:

well, at our appointment last week, the endo recommended we consider it. CC's on the pump and I didn't jump at having her take 3 shots a day too.

We decided not to try it at this time. She has been having huge swings in her numbers and he thought that would help. But the swings are due to basketball season. We just need a little help getting on track with that. So I made an appointment with the CDE. Since then, CC got injured and isn't playing. And her numbers are better.

I would consider it down the road, but I don't think it would help her in this instance.

Hmmmm....that I don't know. I didn't notice that in any of the literature he gave me. It seemed somewhat geared toward T2. But not entirely. Said it could cause weight loss so maybe that's why it wouldn't be approved for children?

I think there are some issues with food not absorbing in children, which is obviously what it's supposed to do, but if the food isn't absorbing properly the fear is that growth will be hindered. I will need to find a study, I'm sure I saw one at some point :)
