That is really funny.. I just asked Kayla that last week. I was looking at her log and she put something like.. 16 CHO.. uncovered for bed. I was like.. what is CHO?? She said carbs.. I asked my sister who is a nurse and she laughed and said yes, cho is carbs.. and thought it was funny that Kayla knew something I didn't.

I first saw CHO for carbohydrates in a picture on CWD of friends for life (from the newsletter maybe) and was surprised in earth systems science (which I took in college) to learn that CHO is the chemical way to write carbohydrate.

Well if you really want to know -

A molecule of glucose is comprised of 6 carbon atoms, 12 hydrogen atoms, and 6 oxygen atoms, so the chemical formula for glucose is C6-H12-O6

The chemical forumula for sucrose (table sugar) is C12-H22-O11

All carbohydrates have some combination of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, so are referred to as CHO.
