I guess the follow-up question is.....How does the target rate equate to your A1C and average blood glucose readings?

As we have inched the target down and tweaked the basals, we have seen his average blood glucose reading go down. I am wondering if there is a point where that isn't quite the case anymore.

It's a "target" and we often miss our target;).

Seriously though, when we lowered my son's target rate his a1c DID go down a little, but we also made many other changes at the same time, so it "could" be from the lower target rates or it could be from different ways of delivering his basal, or different meal ratios.

ours for Olivia is 150 +/- 50 all the time, but she is four so her endo errors on the side of higher. Even with that her last A1c was 7.3 which is below target for her age group.

Connor's target is 80-110 all the time.
For over 3 1/2 years we have maintained an a1c between 5.9 and 6.9.

Mine are a wee bit lower then this, but I don't correct if I'm under 8.0 mmol @ bedtime, I correct in the daytime though
