I have not been online much, because my eyes started having trouble seeing and headaches. I just went to see my Opthmologist and its not anything he can fix apparently its the optical nerve but to be absolutely positive more tests....Its hard to read the forums now and sorry about spelling errors I feel devasted that its not an easy fix..just hoping there is a fix.
    I miss reading your posts.

The only thing I can say its blurred double vison with pain...sharp pain.

next wil be a CAT SCAN and specialist to rule out cancer or tumor pressing on the nerve.

This has been a horrible year....if I lose my sight..there must be away to hear /see online...talking pc? or something...if thats the case I am getting or picking the sexiest man voice possble...lol

and I just want to say thanks for all the laughs and insight. For now until my vision improves I m going to stay offline...it hurts too much to try to read double vison.

    God Bless

    Sheryl,

Not sure if you will be reading this but, just in case, I am sorry about your eyes and hope the doctor will have good news for you soon.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm on my way to being blind as well, so I've started prepping by enrolling in The Hadley School for the Blind and the initial Braille classes, can't wait to learn it! I haven't looked into Talking computers yet, but I have heard of them!

I can get the specifics if you need, but my dad and stepmother (both blind) use a program called JAWS. (Or at least they did last time I asked!). Its a simple program that reads all the test on the screen. Its not overly hard to use, but it uses a whole different set of commands on the keyboard and does not need use a mouse at all.

There is quite a bit of tech stuff for blind folks, including talking cell phones. Just let me know and I can get any info you want from my dad. :)

honey, you give me your phone number and I'll call you to chat and read the forums to you. Have someone PM me with your phone #. Im serious, I dont pay for long distance calls. Im going to be praying hard that there is something that can be done, maybe a transplant or if there is a cyst on the nerve maybe it can be removed.

I am very happy to hear there are program.s out there...and I am praying and hoping its a temporary flux in my vihrou4g1sion...been a few weeks...and I have been under stress...w all that we been though.

I miss reading the forums and hearing all your stories.. Maybe ambrea will read them to me later

    This saddens me.:(
I hope it's not what you fear it may be. I hope there's a solution.

Any chance of posting the Tech info? I'd love to look into it, I need to learn how to use it all, so I'll be able to continue working when it eventually happens

I am so sorry to read this. I will be praying for you. My middle son has horrible vision issues including double vision. He has been through every test in the book, I can't imagine being uncertain of your vision future.

Please have someone (hopefully you) update us on your condition.

sen ding me to eye institute, two hours of tests...this wed. they were going to schedule it in August, and my dr stated stat...asap.

so I am thinking how bad can it be if they cn wait a few days...thinking this is a positive in one way....now if he said today....or yesterday..that is really bad.

it has been hard to do ...anything visual...i am bummed and you must really be thankful of how much we depend on our eyes.

you watch tv, read a book or go online...just going for a drive, walk, photos,I have new respect for those with vision loss.

so for me look at the world or your family...and see the beauty in it.:)

I am going yo chillout on thedeck...and pretend the world is a happy place and all is good....no matter what happens...i will be ok.

let ya know what happens...today is just one of those days.....

    thanks again

    Sheryl,

Your attitude is amazing. As long as you can keep your sense of humor and positive outlook on life then you can handle anything.

I hope you get some answers soon and praying for good news!

Thanks Connie, I didn't know about the control and enlarging the whole page. I see the other specialist this Friday.

Kristi ~ thanks...I see our children as role models with positive thinking....instead of seeing the negative...they just deal with the hand they are dealt...and live a full live regardless the circumstances.

Don't you just look at your child and think ..how lucky we are to have such neat kids ...yeah they have diabetes..but look .. D has made them stronger, compassionate, and more empathetic individuals....I feel blessed....because of D.. I met all of you.

we have some answers.....previous RK surgery caused my corneas to change shape or warped them....and apparently have cysts on the corneas..

see the specialist again in2 weeks.

drops...drops...and....trying contacts or special contact like a bandaid ....he said if that doesn't work a cornea transplant... is my last option. The cysts are a big issue.....

I never heard of eye cysts..what can't they laser those off??

i'm glad to hear you an answer as to why you are experiencing these eye problems. I've never heard of eye cysts either. I hope the drops help and your vision and pain get better.
