    Thanks for sharing.

This Holocaust survival story is truly extraordinary.

My family visited the Auschwitz concentration camp museum this past summer. I remember wondering if someone with type 1 diabetes were there back then, and how incredibly stressful it would be for them and the parents to worry about insulin and BG. It just seemed impossible...

Any Auschwitz survival story is extraordinary. This man's tale of survive is EXTRA extraordinary. Very inspirational.

Thank you for sharing, as a long time T1 I have often wondered about a disaster where I might find myself with out insulin and about those individuals around the world with very few supplies even in today's world. Sadly I had not thought about those sent to concentration camps in WW2, what an incredible and heart wrenching story, he was still so young when he died...Ali

Anyone interested in this amazing story should click the link at the end to read the 11 page account of his WWII experience in his own words.

He certainly had a lot of luck on his side, and a very strong will to live.

My 12 year-old T1D child enjoyed reading this article too.
