Fatima Shahzad is now 33 and tells what it was like in this interview to hear the news, how she tried to protect her parents by being strong, the things she missed out on as a child, the life decisions including career that have been changed by diabetes, the misconceptions people have about it and the coping mechanisms she recommends others use to deal with it.
