My daughter was dx with MODY 2 when she was 8. We have managed well with low carb diet and exercise until recently. She is 16 and started taking birth control pills due to irregular menstrual cycles. The pills seem to effect her blood glucose levels. I expressed concern when they put her on the pill bc of the MODY. The usual reaction we get from most Drs is that they've never heard of it. Has anyone else experienced high blood glucose on birth control like this?

My daughter was dx'd with PCOS 2 yrs ago. Initial treatment was Metformin & a low-dose oral contraceptive. We battled stubborn highs (& several other side effects) for several months. We now treat with Metformin only.
