Through a strange course of event yesterday morning I ended up giving Nat her breakfast bolus TWICE. Let's just say 6 units for breakfast is good. Twelve units for breakfast is BAD...very, VERY BAD.

    Always check the pump history!!!!

I've done this for dinner before.. 5U x 2. Weirdly, nothing went very wrong. I was about 75 when I noticed what I'd done after 4 hours! (And I'd been wearing the CGM, so no low before that.) Either I would have massively underbolused for dinner by my initial calculations, or by some freak coincidence I happened to double bolus on a night that I was due for some crazy highs.

Hope you noticed what you'd done quickly and everything was okay. :)

Unfortunately I didn't piece it together until later that afternoon. Over the course of 2 hours she was 26:eek:, then 30:eek::eek: then 27:eek::eek::eek:. This while at the endo for her regular visit.

Ah, well it would all have made sense if you'd mentioned the endo. It's the curse... ;) Well, I'm glad you caught the lows and she's okay now. These sort of mistakes are just so easy to make.

Thank God it all turned out okay. This is something I've almost done myself...and may yet do in the future!

    This wasn't being stupid...only being human!;):cwds:

No better place to be when dealing with this situation.

Better to accidently double bolus breakfast than supper.

I'll be the co-recipient of that award. I let Jack's reservoir run down PAST zero last night.

Not one of my finer D moments.

Erm... I do this every single reservoir change.. Is it bad? :p

From my experimentation the reservoir has at least 10 more units in after the status screen shows "--.--".

Eh, I have at least one not very fine D moment a day.

I think it is so much harder to keep track of everything in the summer when we don't have a fixed routine. Also, endo appointment days are always hectic with pulling everything together to take with you, etc. Don't beat yourself up. All ended well and I bet you never do it again.

As far as stupid D parent awards go, it's like kid's soccer in America - everyone gets a trophy.
