Help! Can anyone give me info. on seven plus? Also, what is Dexcom?
the seven plus is the dexcom, its a continuous glucose monitor (cgms for short).. its a sensor with a transmitter and a receiver. The sensor sits right under the skin in the interstitial fluid, the transmitter connects to it, it sends blood sugar readings to the receiver every 5 minutes and displays them in a graph. It helps you pick up trends, trouble spots, see spikes after meals, and avoid lows. Its like seeing a full 'movie' rather than just 'snap shots' (tradition blood sugar checking with a glucose meter). You still MUST do traditional finger pokes with a cgms though.
