I could do a search, but can you give me the short list of other adhesive coverings besides Tegaderm? My son has started reacting to it - major itching, so much so he has scratched til the site came off a few times. So I need some other stuff. Thanks.

There's a Cavillon something or the other:confused: Is that a covering too or a cleansing solution. Forgot the exact name.

IV3000 and Opsite flexfix are like tegaderm. Hypafix is white cloth like the infusion set.

Cavalon is a barrier cream. Bard is a barrier wipe.

We use Hypafix over Alex Pod's and Sensor sites.

Paula, can you get Hypafix where you are? Its the BEST tape out there.. it stretches, it sticks, and little reaction.. its the same tape used on infusion sets.

I have to ask the pharmacy people. I'm sure they can order it, if they don't have it in stock.

Funny how after over 4yrs, he's only reacting to Tegaderm now. We've used it off and on and it always worked. I wonder if with the warmer temps, it's affecting how his skin reacts.

    Thank you again everyone.

You can get hypafix at Amazon if all else fails.

    Ok, good thought, thanks.

Dumb question - Cavilon and Bard - what do you use them for exactly? As a barrier between the skin and the adhesive??

I've reacted to every other tape I've tried, but Hypafix is wonderful. My skin looks great when I take it off, and it stays on well in water. I bought a big roll on Amazon, and it's been going for a long time.

Cavilon is a barrier spray, works well for me, IF, I rotate tapes. I use IV 3000, Tegaderm, and Flexifix(which I have the fewest reactions to)

I use the cavilon before the sensor(and infusion set) and again before the tape
