From Dr. William Polonsky, a friend:

    Just For Parents:
Development of an Online Program to Understand and Address Emotional Distress in the Parents of Teens with Type 1 Diabetes

GOAL: We know that it can be a tough and sometimes frustrating job when you have a teen with type 1 diabetes. Because of this, we are developing the first Web-based program that is designed to help parents cope more successfully. This program will be available to parents all over the world at no cost!

To make this program the best it can be, we need your help! This first stage survey is longer than what the final survey will be. Your answers to each question are important and will help us determine the right elements for the final survey and program.

WHAT WE NEED: In this first phase, we need parents with type 1 teens who will be willing to complete an anonymous, online questionnaire. We will use the results of this questionnaire to help us understand how parents are struggling and what might be needed to help them. We will then use these findings to build the tools we will need for the final online program.

Please note: We will not ask for any personal information that will identify you or your child.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Parents who currently have teens with type 1 diabetes. Must be fluent in English.

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO: If you are willing to participate, click on the link below to access our private and secured study website. You will need to spend 15 ? 20 minutes to complete the questionnaire. You can access the website from any computer you want to use. PLEASE complete the survey before July 1.

WILL THERE BE COMPENSATION: Well, no. Sorry about that. But you will have the pleasure of knowing you have helped us to move this important project forward!

WHO WE ARE: This is a joint project of the Behavioral Diabetes Institute (which is run by William H. Polonsky, PHD, CDE) and the Bringing Science Home initiative (headed by the well-known and beloved, Nicole Johnson, MPH). If you have any concerns about the project, please contact Dr. Polonsky at whp@behavioraldiabetes.org.

You can access the survey here: http://justforparents.behavioraldiabetes.org. If this does not take you directly to the survey, please copy and paste the link into your web browser.

Technically, I have a "pre-teen" but it had an option for his age, so I also did the survey. Was quick and easy:cwds:
