Does anyone know when the new Animas pump will be available? Also do you know any of the features it will have...other thn dexcom integration? My son uses the Ping now and its upgrade time. Thanks!
While waiting you can checkout Animas UK site, where the pump is already available Link here Now, essentially this is 2020 + CGM integration + Better screen. Perhaps the biggest "turnoff" is the fact that there is no remote.
Wife has the Vibe. We like it as it is less to carry. Basically a 2020 with a Dexcom 7 Plus receiver built in. Does not have remote. She is Norwegian, so got it ahead of us.
On the Dexcom Q3 investor call on Nov. 6, 2013, CEO Terry Gregg said that Animas is currently doing more testing (verification and validation testing, along with human factors testing) as requested from the FDA regarding the G4-integrated Vibe. From what Dexcom knows, the expectation is that Animas should be submitting a report on all that to the regulators at end of January... so, it looks like the FDA approval on Vibe isn't going to be happening until AT LEAST February, if not further out from there... Boo, to even more delay.
I'm not ready to give up remote blousing and ability to keep G4 receiver with me at night, so we won't be looking at the Vibe anytime soon
I was told by someone at Animas that the Vibe will not have remote but will communicate with the receiver also.
That would be nice - to have the one attached to the teen that can't get lost and one available easily for parents to view.
You can receive the signal from the G4 transmitter with the Animas Vibe and with as much receivers as you want or have inside the transmission range the transmitter is able to cover. So you can connect the Vibe and the DexCom Receiver with the G4 transmitter. It is the same as it is with any other CGMS or with any radio station. Because these connections are working unidirektional and the transmitter does not know how many receivers it is serving and the receivers don't know what's the audience around. Regards Joa
