Update: My poor mom. She fell and broke her hip.

It happened on Boxing day, she is in the hospital. She is 78 and has already undergone surgery. I have barely slept, I am so worried about her. She has very bad osteoporosis.
I hope she will heal completely and quickly.

How's your Mom doing now? Is she in RC? I hope which ever one she's in, they treat her well.

My mom has had her surgery and seems to be doing well. She has already been out of bed! But now she has a urinary tract infection that she needs to fight. Her blood count is a bit low too.

My sister (my mom lives with her) is sick at home with a horrible flu and unable to visit, so I am making the daily 1 hour trips daily, so that there is someone there for her. I am pretty tired...

Connie she is in Vancouver General Hospital. On the 7th floor in the orthopedic Trauma floor. The staff seem wonderful. And she has a lovely view. Definately something to be thank-ful for.

Her room mate is very elderly and has diabetes. I don't know what type but she needs insulin to eat. She is a frail wisp of a women too. Just like my mom. She apparently fell due to complications from her diabetes (while she was in the hospital!) and broke her hip. She doesn't remember any details about how it happened. :(

Your mother has been on my mind a lot. I am happy to hear that the surgery went well and she is recovering nicely. I hope your sister gets well soon as well. She will need her strength to take care of your mother.

I haven't been able to go and see her for the last two days because I have a sick kid at home...:(

Just another thing to worry about.

    Thankyou everyone!

I justed wanted to let you know that her red blood cell count is now normal, her urinary tract infection has cleared up and today they moved her out of acute care and into physio!
She maybe home by her birthday on Jan. 15...such a relief.
