My father died in 1997. We were extremely close. I still miss him everyday. Last Saturday my only son was set to graduate college, along with my nephew who went to the same univiersity. As graduation approached I felt a heavy sadness that my dad could not witness both his grandsons graduate together. My father was forced to quit high school to help with the family farm, so this would have been the event of his lifetime.

He had a necklace that I bought him in 1982 that he wore until the day he died, never took it off. It was the most cherished item that I recieved upon his death. I took it to the jewelers and had it fixed up and gave to to my son to wear at his graduation.

My father was very Irish, and on his tombstone we had this inscribed, "Dad until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand."

What did the university choir sing? The Irish Blessing. (The exact same words as his tombstone.)

This is NOT an Irish university, so why on earth would they pick that song? I do not believe in coincindences like that, I really believe with all my heart that my dad had a front row seat to his grandson's graduation:)

Just thought I would share my little miracle:)

This is the Choir singing it at a concert. My son is in the front row 2 kids to the right of the director.

When they started singing this song at graduation, I looked at my sister who was crying and I tapped her on her knee. She just nodded her head yes, she knew that he was there too. It was one of the most moving moments of my life!
