Just checked DS BG and it's 52 ! He is up and drinking juice and I will check again in 15 mins. but do I NEED to have him eat a snack to keep it up ?
Yes, Something with protein like peanut butter crackers that will help keep up BG/keep it steady after a low.
Thanks ! I just got him to eat 4 cheese crackers. (His re-check was 72) Although I doubt he'll remember in the am as he is pretty much still asleep!
we use chocolate milk for a carb/protein snack after #'s are back in range after a night time low, we find it easier for him to get down when he's half asleep
If this (lows at night) is happening with any frequency, then you should maybe look at switching the Lantus to the morning.. :cwds:
