In particular children on ICT need dosing in small steps.

Now there is a new pen offering dosing in steps of 0,1 units insulin. The minimal possible dose is 0,5 U.

It is motor driven (manual injecting option also) saving the dates of the last 195 injections and is readable by USB connection. By USB also the battery is reloaded.

It is said that it will be launched in Europe in the next weeks. The announced launch for 12/2011 is delayed.
The price is converted rd. about 220 US $.
Downloading readable is the pen yet with the programms SiDiary and Diabass.

I found it last year at diabetesnet.com

The pendiq site is to find here.

Those who understand German find a thread about the pendiq pen at the german diabetes forum "Insulinclub".

Awesome!! This is the sort of advancement we should have been having for a long time, IMO. This will be great for the people who don't want to or can't pump but need or would like to have more precise dosages of smaller amounts.

That is very cool!! I definitely would have wanted one of those when dd was still on MDI.

Seems like such a no-brainer that a company hasn't come out with this before.

Looks interesting. The new NovoPen Echo also has the ability to look back and see the last injection amount. It doesn't keep track of multiples or allow uploading to a computer though. It is a big improvement over the older NovoPen jr though.
