Em injected Levemir tonight and it caused her tummy to get a lump. Does that mean the insulin didn't absorb? Will it?

It should be fine as long as she didnt see alot of leak back. She can try gently massaging the area to see if the lump will go down.

What it means is that part of the insulin went into the skin. It will absorb more slowly, but it WILL absorb, so do not do a repeat shot.

We had this happen to - she may run higher for a day. But like the others said - don't give her more!

As the others said, massage the area; it will absorb sooner or later, no need to inject again. It happens to my son once in a while as well...

    Thank-you!!

I will remember about massaging the skin for the future.

I am so tired I feel I am running around the clock here. Communal living is taking it's toll. Tomorrow is our day off, but we have to get up very early to catch the train. I hope I don't fall asleep and miss the scenery.
