It's a lot less than what you have been eating. :cwds:
yeah alot less actually
compared to last night
when i had the ice cream with the chocolate cake
and all the other stuff when we went out to eat
im sure it was that desert that made me high
if only we hadnt gone out to eat
then id be ok
Just remember that one number doesn't hurt you too much.
I mean obviously you're trying to stay as low as possible. But there's no point in dwelling on one mildly high number once it's already happened, just keep trying to make things work next time.
i guess ur right
im so happy
my blood sugar was 106 tonight
thats the lowest its ever been
but im so sore and i feel terrible now
well being sore is from the exercise
but i think i feel sick cuz my snack was about 230 grams of carbs
this is what i do when im high i play sports or shop for hours at a time! and take insulin
About the water- you can get insulin resistant if you're dehydrated, but other than that, water will only lower your blood sugar if you are high, and even then not much. So if you're 210, water might (depends on your kidneys) lower your blood sugar to 200. If you're 150, water's probably not going to lower your blood sugar at all.
Yayy!! I'm glad you were lower! If you keep the exercise up and the carbs down, you should be able to see numbers like that more often. :cwds:
A 230g carb snack?
so does that mean the water was a waste of time? lol
cuz i only drank it cuz i thought it would lower my blood sugar
i usually dont drink any water, i think it tastes gross
well idk how im gonna stay low today
im not doing any exercise
i hurtz so bad now
but i guess i gotta just be careful about what i eat
and hope it works
i still need 2 more days, and theres only 4 chances
this is gonna be hard
I think that if you exercise all day and than eat a 230 carb snack, that snack is going to canel all the exercise you did.
I would eathier cut that snack or maybe something lower carb. JMO, though.
I'm just thinking about the logistics of a 230g snack, though. I mean, cereal, pasta and rice are like the carbiest things I can think of, and that's what.... 7-8 bowls of cereal, or 4-5 plates of pasta or rice? Typo / miscalculation, perhaps?
Tea without caffeine would do just as well. Good stuff. Drinking enough water to prevent dehydration is important; extra water is probably going to make little to no difference with blood sugars as nice as yours.
The effects of exercise from yesterday will still be keeping your blood sugars down somewhat.
I personally see exercise affect my blood sugar two ways:
One is when I'm actually exercising and maybe for an hour afterwards that it lowers my blood sugar.
Two is that if I don't exercise AT ALL, if I stay home all day (say on the weekend) then on the first day it doesn't do much, but on the second day of being a lazy bum, my blood sugar goes up and up and up no matter what I do. So the first day of sitting around the house- my body doesn't mind. Two days of sitting around- no good. I need to do something, even if it's just a walk to the library (half a mile) and back.
From talking to other people with diabetes that I know personally, I think that it's pretty common that two or three days of sitting around doing not much causes a rise, but that the first day won't, but of course---- YDMV!
Personally, exercise seems to have a cumulative effect whilst I am doing it (might need a 80% basal the first day of intensive exercise, 60% the next day etc) until if I've been exercising for a week, my basal is drastically reduced. Last time I did a whole week of major exercise, my total basal went from 14U to 6U, and it takes about 3 days to return to its normal amount. But I'm talking about like 6 hours of exercise a day. If I only do 1-2 hours on one, my basal needs are usually just reduced whilst I'm doing it. If I do it for more days, the effect seems to build up.
i decided that im gonna try and do maybe 20 minutes today
later this afternoon...
its easier for u ppl to exercise
altho i wouldnt need exercise if i didnt take the steroid medicine
cuz then i wouldnt have the diabetes either
but im stuck takin the steroid medicine, cuz i got some weird disease lol
and the weird disease makes it hard to exercise, cuz it makes ur bones and joints and stuff hurt. and it makes u extra tired.
so idk what to do, i gotta exercise to keep my blood low, but my disease makes exercising alot worse than it would be for a "normal" person. lol
oh and the 230 carb snack was AFTER we check my blood at night. snack is always after blood, so then i can eat what i want, as long as its sugar free lol.
it may be sugar free, but that doesnt mean its carb free
just curious about what you ate for the 230g snack?
well i ate:
some pretzels (about 25 carbs or more, i ate more than the servin size lol)
some yogurt (about 14 carbs)
alot of sugar free cookies
like maybe 7 or 8 servin sizes of them
BUT different types of sugar free cookies
some were vanilla wafers
some were chocolate covered graham cracker thingys
and there were some shortbread type cookies too
all those vanilla wafers are so gross
after u eat like 12 of them they start to taste weird
Just a warning - sugar free food tends to have a laxative effect if you eat more than the serving size. Personally I get stomach aches from it anyway.
anyways im gettin tired of sugar free cookies
do u think they have other kinds of sugar free food?
Why do you actually eat sugar free food anyway?
It tastes bad, and has just as many carbs as the regular stuff.
well i guess i do it cuz the doctor sayd to
she sayd to not eat things with sugar
so im stuck takin sugar free cookies
instead of the regular type
and sugar free food doesnt taste bad to me
only the vanilla wafer stuffs
i sorta like the other kinds
but i wish i could eat regular chocolate chip cookies instead
anyways at least its almost saturday
on saturday night i get to eat ice cream
so thats fun, i guess
i used to be able to eat ice cream every night, but now i cant
