Just wondering how everyone's blood sugars were today (Thanksgiving)? I know there's always a lot of food and desserts here, which makes it a nightmare to carb count and test and take insulin when I'm supposed to. But for me, this Thanksgiving went surprisingly smooth! My highest bg for the day was a 160!

    Here are my bg's for the day;

Woke up at 5:30am because I felt low...I was 49, so I had four glucose tabs
Twenty minutes later I tested again...44  So I had a juice box (15 carbs)
I waited a while, until I started feeling better, and I tested again- 121 (6:20)
Then I went back to sleep until 11 :D
At 11:30 I tested at 93 so I ate breakfast and covered conservatively
At 2pm I had to go pick up my uncle, so before I got in the car, I tested- 160
At 2:30 when we sat down to eat, I was 79
At 3:30 I was 148- we had dessert then
    At 7pm I tested at 88
    And now (9:15 my time) I am 85 :D

Now...why can't every day be like this!? (minus the icky low at 5:30am!)

Wow, sounds like you had a great bg day, well, except for the early morning low! I unfortunately was not so lucky but it really wasnt too bad considering it was my first Thanksgiving with d. The only bad things were i underestimated how many carbs were in my meal and ended up at 265 2 hrs after, but i corrected and came down to 147 by dessert. i then overestimated the amount of carbs in dessert (maybe i was afraid of underestimating again?) and went down to 47:rolleyes:. i am now sitting at a comfy 128 so overall it could have been a lot worse. Next year i'll probably be better at carb counting so it should be easier. i'm really horrible at it still.

Awe! That is a great first Thanksgiving with D!! My first TG with diabetes wasn't as nice as yours, lol. I ran in the 50's the entire day. I'll never forget it. It was my first big holiday with the pump, and I stacked insulin and over-estimated carbs like you couldn't believe.:rolleyes::eek:
You aren't horrible at it!! You're still learning, and before you know it, you will be an old pro!! You did a great job, and you should be proud of yourself! Great work!! :) Keep it up!!

I was 114, ate bft, spiked to 194 at 2 hours, corrected, down to 75, corrected, up to 125 at dinner, corrected, 110 now. Not bad

Oh my range is 100+/-20, or 80-120, so that is why I corrected so much

    lunch-131 (had abt 30 carbs) :)
supper-131 (what a coincidence!) (haha...had 80, but that included a piece of chocolate cake :)

i stay about the same everyday. from 70-140. except for these past few mornings. :)

I had Thanksgiving yesterday because my mom had to work today from 1 - 7 PM(I thought both of my parents did, but I was wrong). My sugars were pretty good. I was 70 - 150 all day except for one low(54) when I woke up at 8 AM.

awww man.....I hate to be the one to break the trend, but.......

    8:30 - 99 (yay :D)

    10:30 - 47 (treated with about 20 grams)

12:00 - 160 (bolused because I was about to start munching on all of the TG food that was set out. :))

3:00 - 211 (corrected and bolused for the main meal)

6:00 - 329 (ugh. not good at all. something went wrong. horribly wrong.)

9:00 - 195 (ok, so I figured out I needed a site change, I was due to change at 6, but I waited until I got home, and it turns out my site was slightly irritated, so that probably contributed to the highs in the afternooon)

And then I woke up this morning at 114. Back to normal. :D

So last night I had 2 slices of bread because I did not eat that much food at dinner.
    44 carbs
    ratio is 1/15
    so I took 2.95 u.
    1 hour later, I was 70 with 2.21 u on board!

It wasn't a fat spike, I only had butter on one peice of bread and there wasn't much fat in the bread itself. So I figured 2.2 x 15= 33
1 carb raises my bg 6, so up to 100 would be 5 carbs
33+5=38. I weighed and apple, and it was 35 carbs, and I had a Werthers (carmel) that was 3. I ate it all, spiked to 190 an hour later, came back down to 110.

I was worried because I had a dream that I woke up at 5, tested, and I was HI and I passed out, and I thought my dream was real! I did check my meter log...

My numbers were pretty good all morning, and early afternoon, but then---I had 2 lows! 59 and then 69. But that could've been 'cause I was wandering around a tree lot with my cousins.
