How long does Novolog last? When is the peak? I thought I read it lasts 2 hours. Would that mean it peaks in an hour? Do you find it lasts longer in your child?

    Thanks.

I find that Novolog peaks in Rachel at about an hour, and then it lasts for about 4 hours....Maybe even 5.

I am not sure about novalog, but theoretically, humalog is supposed to peak just before the 2 hour mark. It still is working at 3 hours, and should be pretty much tapered off by 4 hours (though on the humalog website, it shows a small effectiveness up to 6 hours).

Some things, such as injection site and activity level (and hot showers!) will also have some impact on how quickly the insulin is absorbed.

    Hmmm?

I wonder where I came up with 2 hours?

I always thought 2 hours also. Hmmm. I always factor in that it is stopping working after 2.

In Julia it peaks between one & a half hours, to two hours. It lasts between 4, and 5 hours depending on what the day brings.

If you read 10 different books you get 10 different answers.:p
Thats how I feel about novolog.
I guess it depends on how long it takes to absorb into the body?
