My son, Jackson, is diagnosed with MODY diabetes. He has had an abnormal A1c for a few years now and it recently reached its highest level at 6.5. Our endo said that we will more than likely hold off to start any oral medications until his
    A1c is 7.0.

What type of treatment is everyone on and when did they begin with it?

For now, we are to start checking his blood sugars 1-2 hours after he eats and let him know if they start to be consistently over 150. Of course, tonight, it was only 100!

So many questions and no one to talk to about it because everyone just looks at me like I'm a weirdo for even mentioning he has diabetes!

I am on pump therapy (I have the MODY-3 genetic gene) which gene does your son have and have you had confirmed Genetic testing(the only way to prove that anyone has MODY)? Depending on which variation of MODY your child has the treatment varies, I could be on sulf pills, but I choose insulin (personal choice)
