My son Travis has a friend at school whose mom has T1 D. Well, Joey invited Travis overnight tonight for his birthday. Joey's mom was totally cool with having him stay. I was thrilled that Travis could have this normal boy experience. Then, get this, she asked me the other night if Kylie could come stay, too. They have a daughter a little older than Ky that plays with her on the bus and she wanted Kylie to come. Kylie was thrilled. So right now my 2 D children are at a sleepover. I have tears in my eyes because Kylie has already been asking if I could train this friend's mom or that friend's mom so she could go to a sleepover sometime. You know as well as I that that is a hard thing, and I have chosen to not ask anyone (except family) to be trained if they don't want to be trained. I want them to ask so I know it's what they want. Some people just don't want to do it and I don't want to place them (or my child) in a bad situation. So for this mom to have both of my kids is so huge and amazing to me. And, the best part? They live a mile away so if there is a problem I can be there pronto! I am a bit anxious but I will try to enjoy this rare experience! My oldest is out for the day with his grandparents and so my DH and I are going out to eat for our anniversary (which was last week) tonight! Anyway, isn't our neighbor so wonderful to do that?
Awesome!!! Enjoy your night!!! Your new friend is a blessing! Amazing how they just appear isn't it? Have a wonderful date!
Enjoy your night out! What a great neighbor! I wish we all lived closer together , we could get a babysitting co-op going:cwds:. You're lucky to have someone who's wanting to get it.
Yes, God bless her!!!!!!!!! It's a blessing to know she is near anytime you need an "emergency" sitter, too. Hopefully you never NEED that, but...........:cwds:
