My sister's birthday. It will be 3 1/2 years tomorrow.
Just an ordinary day, July 14, 1998. But Reann was on vacation visiting her then 20 yr old sister--over 600 miles away. What a horrible wakeup call that was at 7am, telling me she was in a coma and had D. But it has been over 11 yrs and she is doing great!
Phillip was dxd on Jan 27, the first day of school after the summer holidays.
Went to school that day, doctors right after school, in hospital by teatime that night.
Kenny was dx'd on his 12th b-day
Same as Katie Jane - Feb. 13
Oct 23 for us. I voted just a ordinary day. It was my former bosses birthday and a week before Halloween. Pretty much spoiled the holiday for us last year, but we made up for it this year
Kaleb was dx 5 days after his 16th birthday, but I had looked up all of his symptoms the day of his birthday and thought it was weird that he had everything on the list.
It was my family that stopped me from taking him in then, saying I was over reacting.
My dad thought we were, too. My mom made the Doctor appointment, and we didn't tell him about it(until I obviously called to let him know what was happening). As he thought I was still getting over the 'flu' from the week before.
I will say, he felt pretty guilty afterwards.
My mum thought I was overreacting as well... She took me to the doctors to stop me complaining about feeling sick all the time. She felt pretty guilty also.
April Fools Day 2007
Mother's Day 2001. My first mother's day as a new mom
the first day of my first vacation by myself in 12 years since having my kids!!
the week before I left Colby had been going to bathroom frequently and was more tired than usual, I figured it might be a bladder infection and told my husband the day before I left to take him in the next day. I drove all day and when I got to my mom's, he phoned to say that Colby was in the hospital and I had to turn around and drive right back!! it was the scariest thing ever to hear that my little boy was in the hospital over the phone from 1000 miles away
Cole was diagnosed on my best friend's bday, so even though the day meant nothing special to him I always remember it. It's been 5 years for him last Monday. He is 15 now.
Our Wedding Anniversary while on vacation
So for our wedding anniversary we got to witness our daughter come back to life right before our eyes.
From pale, weak and very sleepy in DKA to rosy cheeked and really awake.
And that was a wonderful thing to witness - too bad it came with a catch :cwds:.
Ya know, I voted "just an ordinary day", but come to think of it, it was the week right before Memorial day. He was released from the hospital on Friday, and we stopped at a neighborhood party on the way home!
Our son was dxd on Easter Weekend 2005.
January 22, nothing special.
4th of July, 2008
It was an otherwise ordinary day for me. I know it was the first week of September, 1996, but I can't for the life of me remember the exact day. It was either the 1st or 2nd when I was admitted. I have my hospital bracelet, and the bill for services from the hospital (for some reason my mother thought it would be something I would want to save---more like a reminder of the arm and leg that it cost them for me to be in the hospital for a week.) . I'll have to see if I can find them, my admission date would be on there.
March 12th, no major events pertain to our family for that date
Separate names with a comma.
