Did you know CWD has an "Ignore" Feature like Facebook's "Block" feature?

I stumbled on this yesterday. If you go to your User Panel, there is a link on the left hand side that says "Edit Ignore List" You can set it up so you can block seeing a persons' posts or pm's.

I think this would prevent a lot of bickering that happens on these forums if people would use the ignore feature.

Just letting you know it's out there! I've been on here a long time and didn't realize it was there until yesterday :cwds:

It funny, but I see it as having the opposite effect.

I have had spats with plenty of posters over the years and while we may not agree on everything or even most things  I have seen that over time, from reading their posts and getting to know them better we actually end up with a far better relationship than if I had just cemented my first impression and shut them out.:cwds:

Hey, I put *everyone* on my ignore list... I just like to post to hear myself talk, and enjoy being in my own alternate reality. :p

Last I knew, two different CWDers had announced I had made their "Ignore" list. Don't know if I'm still an "unperson" in their eyes or not. Not sure I care. Long live the Brotherhood.

BTW, nice to you see you Bennett.

That's kind of funny that they told you they were ignoring you! Kind of defeats the purpose of ignoring somebody if you have to tell them about it.

Didn't mean to cause any debates on this. I do get tired of reading through a very long thread with 2 or 3 people having a 4 page long spat that has nothing to do with the thread.

There's also been offline discussion about people getting unwanted pm's as well (I'm one of them). So instead of getting all worked up about it, the ignore button is an easy solution.

I've made a personal decision this past year that it is not worth letting the cyberworld and people that I don't know in real life affect me at all. I'm amazed at how easily people including myself can get so worked up about other people's comments and lives in general and in return get so out of touch with your OWN life. I digress.......

I don't like the idea of ignoring anyone. When I first joined this forum over two years ago, I was such a nervous wreck after her diagnosis, that I bet everyone would have wanted to ignore me!! I'm glad you all didn't!
