I prefer dark chocolate! It is a much healthier choice than milk chocolate in my opinion. If you have a large amount just be sure to cover for carbs. I give my daughter dark chocolate on occasion. She doesn't eat it to treat lows, however, because the fat in the chocolate delays the amount of time it takes to raise her sugar level. But I say enjoy your daily dose of dark chocolate...in moderation of course! :D

Advantage: same food every day makes less changes for you to figure out your insulin. And if it's real dark, not much milk or sugar, then it's pretty low in carbs.

If I eat too much dark chocolate at once, my BG spikes later from the fat content. I love dark chocolate, though, and it is better for my BG than milk chocolate.

    Thanks a bunch dears :)

I'm used to tasting it occasionally during day. To prevent a spike, and it also doesn't sound good to eat much at once;)

I eat really dark ones (usu. more than 90%)not sugary & not milky...I do love Cocoa:D

By accident I found sth. on dark chocolate.
