I am up tonight doing a second round of basal testing. I am so tired and I have to work tomorrow. But, I need to get a good look at his patterns so I know what changes to make. He seems to be following the same pattern he did Friday night. Friday night his numbers were: 8:45pm 121 9:45pm 75 (did not treat, decided to wait it out a bit) 10:20pm 104 11:20pm 122 12:20am 180 2:20am 191 3:30am 180 4:40am 149 6:00am 119 8:00am 86 (no carb breakfast) 9:00am 181 10:00am 225 (I corrected at this point and stopped the test) Tonight so far: 8:30pm 124 9:30pm 117 10:30pm 130 11:30pm 166 12:30am 180 1:30am 229 (I am going to let it ride for one more hour but I may have to stop the test and correct at the next check.) 2:30am 253 (I corrected at this point and decided to get a couple hours sleep.) This seems like too much variation overnight to me. His current basals are: 5-8pm 0.6 8-10pm 0.7 10pm-12am 0.9 12-1am 0.85 1-3am 0.8 3am-5pm 0.5 These basals had been working great until recently but they have not been changed in about 3 months so I know it's time to do some adjusting.
