My mom had read somewhere that if you name all your sons with their first names starting with the letter J then they will have good luck so my older bros and me were named James, Jack. Jerry and John and a tradition of sorts was started because ALL my nephews and a couple of nieces first names start with the letter J as well as our boys. The good luck part didn't work too well with me but maybe that's because as a child I always preferred my middle name instead.

I like both Bronwyn and Siobhan. If Morgan was a girl we were going to call him Josie.
As for boy names, up to one month before he was born Morgan was going to be Duncan. I also like Hunter, Zane, Noah.

Siobhan is one of my favorite names. Ian was going to be Meghan Ailish or Siobhan Elizabeth.

Yes! As a preschool teacher, I see all kinds of alternate spellings because parents want to make their child's name unique. Do you have any idea how many variations of Caitlyn there are?

A few names that I like - beyond Matthew and Connor of course ;)

Girl - Delaney, Julia and Savannah

Boy - Aiden, John (call him Jack), Owen, Charles (call him Charlie)

In our family, all three kids have the same number of letters (7) in their names - just a coincidence. Anyway, that leaves you with a smaller list of choices:
Ian/Jan, Abe, Ben, Ari, etc. Girls: Jae, Bri (pronouncec Bree), etc. Can't think of any more right now and I have a sick 15-yr-old whining for me, again! Yep, he's available to be an older sibling.:D

With my sons, their names had 9 letters: Alexander, Nathaniel and Sebastian. Deacon was going to be Maximillian or Zachariah. But I will say that Deacon named himself. His father and I weren't even looking at baby names or baby name books when I brought up how I didn't like Zack or Max for him. We both said, "What about Deacon?" at the same time. So, I believe that Deacon spoke to us from the womb. This happened the night before the sonogram.

If we ever had a girl, her name was going to be Mara. I also liked Lexine and Noelle, Joy. For a boy I always like Nicholas, Benjamin, Peter.

I love all of these names, but I am laughing about the nine letters. I taught a Nathaniel last year and he struggled to learn to write it. After slogging through Nathaniel for a couple of months, he decided he wanted to be called Nate. When we started working on learning last names, he said, "Can't you just call me Ho?"

    :D

ROFL!! That is a very funny story.

Well, Alexander has been shortened to Alex and his nickname is Ali. Sebastian is in 2nd grade and I have noticed that he has started to sign his name as Sebi. Hawke has never had to learn how to spell Nathaniel because he isn't called by that name.

I have a friend that couldn't choose between kyle and tyler, so his name is Kyler.
