So our Salter 1450 was delivered today and we tried it out. I really like it and can get used to the extra time it takes to find a food on the database over looking up a code. However, I want to ask people who already own this, does your buttons sometimes stick... I mean do you go to press it at times and have to press more than once to get it to work? or have to press it at a certain angle/certain pressure, etc. Maybe it just me, but I find that I will go and press a button and it sometimes does not work with the first press (ie. have to press 2 to 3 times for the letter 'A' instead of just once. Please comment so I will know whether I have a dud.

Yes -- I find this happens, but it's usually a battery issue for us.

I can't remember if they ship the scale with cruddy batteries or if the user has to supply the first set...

You might want to try switching them out.

Yes, sometimes I have to slowly and directly press the buttons.

Our 1450 is the same way. Drives me crazy when I am trying to hurry and add up a carb count...but it is still my favorite scale.
