The pump wars sound really funny -- in *your* home ( : ( : I hate getting peed on!! Today is a day off for me as I had dr. appointments myself. Nice to be home in a quiet house for a change!!!

I'm glad to hear that your scrapbooking is going well. We love the ones you did for us. I can't wait ot try and print them. No good freebees, as usual, just a couple of pump skins. ( :

20 pages?! Wow! That's great!! How funny that all our boys saw the same movie! I thought the movie was great, even though it was drastically different from the storybook, but then again, i don't think the storybook had enough content for a movie. Definitely fun!

The duck races were fun. We didn't win a prize, but that's okay, hopefully we raised enough $$ for the thermal imagers the dept. wants to buy. We then went to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs -- what a fun movie!! But then, a badly guessed dinner at a restaurant kept me up all night with Andrew...>Sigh< Some days you just can't win. I would've thought I'd be better at this sort of thing by now. How was the retreat? Sounds great!!!

      We're not doing a study, we just tried it at home ourselves, and are very pleased with the results. We read about a Canadian study here on CWD, and after reading it, we thought we'd give it a try. We are now investigating whether different varieties of skittles work the same -- so far the boys have tried multi-colored core skittles and are hoping to try sour skittles next ( ;

We are heading out to a local "duck race" this afternoon and then movies with friends. The duck races are fun -- they dump about 2000 rubber duckies in the stream behind the fire department and they "race" to the end, and the top 20 ducks get prizes (each duck has a number on the bottom, and we buy raffle tickets). The fire department gets out the ancient fire truck and races around town giving kids rides, its a lot of fun. Any plans this weekend for yourself?

It is amazing how not having to trek down the hall makes all the difference to nighttime care!! Both boys levelled off shortly after midnight, so I am feeling very rested. No plans this am, so I was able to sleep in and am contemplating taking my coffee back to bed to quietly read while the boys are playing. We've totally switched to skittles after reading about it -- they are INCREDIBLY FAST!!! I love being able to treat with 3 or 6 or just a couple when needed and, naturally, the boys are thrilled with it, too. Schools are fine with skittles and I'm very happy with the $$ savings!!

Bagpipes!!! Wow. You would certainly earn sainthood with that ( : I don't blame you for putting that option off the table!! We are doing okay. Boys went low 3 times after dinner last night. guess the label on the tortellini was WAY WRONG! naturally, they were then high for the early morning part. I carried them both into my bed, so I could just wake up when their pumps beeped, and roll over to bolus off the CGMs. Tonight, Brian over drank on the vitamin water at gym, and is over 300 and Andrew decided to eat candy, so he's at 277. Gotta love it!!! What kind of study is Luke in?

It was a great weekend, one of our best, despite BG spikes in the first two nights. Your cabin sounds really wonderful, I would love to have a place of my own to get away too easily. I remember when the boys moved to their own beds. Now they crawl back in the morning for a "morning snuggle". Sometimes I truly enjoy the space, sometimes I don't. >sigh< ( :

HA HA HA!!!! You are TOO funny!! Brian is doing great. Loves his new teacher, is loving Greek and Latin (which is new this year). How did everyone's first day go?

Enjoy your day and your peaceful home!! I can't believe we all had to wake up this morning to go to school. I am enjoying it so far and Andrew seems happy to have me in his classroom. I don't have a lot to do with him, which is good, but I still get to watch ( : Take care!

Andrew is happy and I am, too. It's a great opportunity to see how another teacher works and to learn the Montessori Elementary materials, which are different from what I know for the younger kids. I am not sure about working full-time, but things do have a way of working out. I'm glad your kids are getting excited for school. Brian was very happy this morning to catch the bus (and sit at the very back, now that he's in sixth grade!!)

Berni seems to be returning to himself tonight, which is a good thing ( : I'm off to see the school tomorrow and drop off Brian's supplies. Can't believe this is our last week of summer...

I'm glad the night was fun. We definitely have the flu. the kids are okay, but Berni is still a grouchy, grumpy, sick guy. I think he's starting to feel better, but has quite a bad cough. We have dr. appointments early this am. Gotta get ready for school! I can't believe some of the problems that people have. Makes me very thankful for the area I live in.

Isn't it great that they knew about the other kid's D, but accepted it so easily they didn't bother to mention it??!! ( : I wish we lived closer, too. We are seriously considering Camp Carefree next year, which is closer, cheaper, is two weeks long, and our own CDE works there *( : I'll keep you posted.

I'm glad to hear that your uncle's prototype is working. Let me knwo if he needs more testers ( : ( :

      Good luck tonight!!!

Oh, I can see how you never knew earlier, in that case. How weird that they found each other?! Do they live nearby? 130 kids? Wow, that's a big camp. How cool. My boys are seriously jealous ( : I'm really glad to hear that they all like your boys so much, but after meeting you, it is no wonder that your kids make friends easy ( :

Best of luck tonight!! Just heard from the Mom who had Brian overnight -- her son went low then high, Brian was high, then went low. I bet she's tired. We, on the other hand, had a great night's sleep as Andrew was a good, steady 110 all night long. Really love the CGM!!
Hey -- have you figured out a way to hear the alarms during the night any better than the radio shack microphone? That thing is huge and bulky and the boys hate it. We don't use it anymore.

      Mary Lou
WOW!!!!! You better get a nap in today!!! Do you think it is weird that the mom never mentioned anything earlier? How wonderful for the boys -- hers and yours -- and for her, too. You certainly know what it is like to have multiple D in the house and it can be hard. It always hurts to hear of other kids with D. I am glad that you and sarah found each other. Have her boys had D for a long time?

8 pumps. Wow, again. You could run your own D camp!!
