Hi Tracy...sorry haven't responded. It's been crazy...We decided to leave Tokyo tomorrow. But my husband will be staying behind so that's not good. It was a knee-jerk decision to leave tomorrow. There's actually more danger from another quake than from the nuclear plant .. .which is being sensationalized by CNN. We (the ones in Tokyo) are safe from that.
Are you guys going to FFL this July?

      Hey, hi,
I stayed home from church today to have some quiet time. It was much needed and nice. Hope you have a good day today.

Can't help a bit on your school basals thread because my d kid is only four, but I had to laugh, part of why we moved to home schooling was because my middle daughter didn't do well sitting at a desk. Yesterday I was feeling like I was dropping the ball on school when I saw she was somersaulting around the living room again. She's been doing it nonstop for three or four days. So I thought, well, at least we got the "not at a desk" part down. Really funny to see that desk sitting means increased basals!

Hi Tracy, I enjoyed reading over your blog. I have a 9 year old son that was diagnosed November 2010...two weeks after his 9th birthday. We are also believers. Don't understand why we have been "blessed" with diabetes, and really can't think of it in that way right now. Do believe God has a purpose, but just trying to understand and figure out the new normal right now. Saw a new doctor today. We've been seeing a pediatrician that specializes in diabetes, but went to a pediatric endo today. My son's BS numbers are usually high 100's to mid-200's, low 300's. They said to increase his Lantus at night from 8 units to 10, and his base Novolog from 2 units to 3 units, and changed the sliding scale. It's a little scary, but I guess we'll up the insulin tonight and see what happens. We hope to go to a pump at some point, but it sure sounds confusing. Well, hope you have good numbers tonight. Talk to you again sometime. Janet (StageMom)
