Thanks for the advice, my parents' families are both from upstate New York, but I haven't been there since I was a kid. I never looked at New Hampshire, assumed we could not come close to affording it, but just looked it up and it looks like it might have a lot of appeal and some areas look like they have good housing prices. Will keep looking, thanks.
