Glad to be of help, we love the Black Mountain area too. N.C. is in fact one of the best states to have a child with diabetes in public school. The state requires that 2 non nurse staff are trained to check blood sugar, give insulin, and use glucagon. The county sends a nurse to every school for training the week prior to school starting, the training lasts like 3 hours and they let me come in and give Zeb specific instructions. My kids go to a charter school and the care Zeb has gotten has been wonderful, of course I can't vouch for every school and teacher but at least in N.C. you have state laws behind you when dealing with the schools. Good luck and post to let us know if your moving nearby.
