Hi, in response to your question about carbs, we don't have to count like we did when we were on the pump. The main thing with my son is just making sure he's eating a carb and a protein with his meals. He's such a carb lover that I don't worry too much about that, but if he eats only quick carbs (i.e. fruit or juice) and no protein or fiber, he can go low within a couple of hours. Thankfully, he loves oatmeal which is a super food that has carbs, protein and fiber in it so his blood sugars stay level in the mornings. Thankfully the glyburide made him really stable. His blood sugars usually run mid 70's to 120's. Katie still runs a little on the higher side 70's to 140's just because she's so small and I'm too scared to give her too much medicine at night. I suppose she'll get tighter control once she starts eating food.
