See, now, too bad about rep being gone because I have to comment on the foil hat -- very cute.
Stopping by to thank you..... again..... gosh, you're probably really annoyed with me by now. :o
Sure enough, he's there now! :) I've been reading the thread you referred me to, it's so chock-full of info. Thanks again!
I can't thank you enough for all of your advice on the thread I started! I REALLY appreciate it. :)
Oh, and thanks so much for the spike advice!
I don't know if you'd be into this guy or not. He's kind of an attachment parenting guru. But one of his things is about emergent (I think) thinkers. One of his points is that emergent kids are never bored. Now, they may not be successful within the system, because instead of filling out a boring worksheet they get caught up in how fascinating the paper is, with all those fiber lines, and what would happen if you tore it slowly this way. . . . .! But, I'm reading that you are not so worried about grades, you are worried that her natural love of learning might be killed off (or am I just projecting about my own kids!?) Seems clear the problem for you is the school, not the kid, but since that's not going to change this info might be helpful.
Thanks for the strawfire info, that might have something to do with what she was saying, I'll have to read it three or four times to see if I understand it!
What is that a picture of in your avitar? A dragonfly? I love dragonflies, so just curious.
