Although you must join to participate, the Children with Diabetes Forums is still viewable to the public, which means your information is viewable and searchable to the public, too. Please use caution if sharing details about yourself, your family/child. Also be aware that referencing other people's full names and locations in your posts is publically searchable; we suggest using truncated names (Dr. S instead of Dr. Smith) as an alternative.
Especially in connection to details about your children, we recommend that you keep your personal e-mail address and phone number to yourself and do not post in the forums. We encourage you to use the Private Messaging system instead, which never exposes your personal email to anyone.
Please do not use personal contact information as your member name or in your signature. Also use caution if you decide to include details about your family and/or work, as that information is searchable to the public. The purpose of the forums is support and education, so please limit links; commercial links are prohibited and will be removed.
Sadly, there are people who present themselves as someone else when using online forums. For your protection, as well as your family's, please use caution when developing online relationships.
