A six inch white sub roll with two slices ham and swiss cheese and a little cheddar cheese.

Would you bolus normal or combo?

Not a teen here, but the mom of a 6 year old boy who eats like one. ;)

    We would bolus that straight.

I'll be whacky and say I'd combo. I'd do half upfront and half over an hour. If I saw the CGM graph going up in that hour, I'd cancel the square part and give the undelivered bit at that point.

I need to combo bolus for pretty much anything with cheese, and I imagine meat would just add to the slow-acting-ness. I also combo bolus if I'm eating a lot, and 6 inches sounds quite big.

But I think I need combos more frequently than a lot of people.

Well, we did 20 carbs up front and the remaining 92(!) carbs over a combo with 60% up front and extended over 30 minutes. He done go down I think to 86. He had 5 grams of something then he came up a lot later. Must have been so much food he needed a longer combo. He is a tween and eating a lot like his brother.
