I'm just curious because I've always felt like my daughter uses more insulin than most kids her age. She's 10 (11 in June), about 4'8 and weighs about 72 pounds. Her TDD is about 45-50 units a day, which just seems like a lot. About 60-65 percent is basal, but she also grazes A LOT and is a fast-growing kid.
I'm only posting this out of curiosity--I'm not planning on changing her dose or anything based on this :)

Will is 10, 60 lbs, honeymooning still, tdd is 5-8, 1 of which is lantus. We usually have more than half of a cartridge left at expiration. Such a shame to waste it.

Molly is honeymooning. Up until the last few days her TDD was 3-5u, but because of travel or something, we are up around 8-9u/day lately.

It's just crazy to me how much her insulin needs have changed over the years. When she was first dx at 2 and honeymooning she would use at most 3.5 u/day. Sometimes she'd get nothing but her 0.5 u of Lantus. And then when she was on steroids for a few months for Evan's it would be close to 80-100. :cwds:

Herbie is 5 days shy of 8, 80 pounds, around 4'4", TDD 26u (11 lantus, about 5 per meal--he's a big kid, but not a snacker at all). We're waiting on our Ping and I assume when he can eat without the "threat" of shot (although testing is almost as much an issue) he'll go back to eating when he's hungry instead of when he's starving.

i have no idea LOL! I'll need to check Ashleigh's pump, when she gets up. I know her basal is between 17-18 units. I:C ratios right now are ranging between 1:11-1:14
