I'm curious to see how eveyone will differ.
Right now I'm on about 35-30 units a day.
How about everyone else? Is anyone on a very small amount? A hugh amount?
    Again I'm just curious.

Wow I feel like I'm taking a very small amount compared to you two.
Although I can sometimes take closer to 40 units.

And Cait....my basal, so far, is about 14 units on the pump or 18 units Lantus.

I felt like that when I first started on the pump. I started at only .3-.4 units per hour. And somehow it increased to anywhere from .9-1.3 units.

My average TDD for the past seven days is 57.09 units. I feel like I use so much insulin compared to all of you!
When I started pumping back in July 2006, my TDD was around 18-20 units! But then again, I was honeymooning, my highest basal was around .6 u/hr, my correction was (and still is 1:50) and my ICR was 1:35. As you can tell, many things have changed since then. My basals are much higher, my ICR is much lower, and, I have been running a bit high because I have been sick. Oh, how I miss the days when I didn't use as much insulin...but I use the least amount of anyone else in school...crazy, huh?

Before I got on the pump my TDD was about 100u a day... 25u of lantus twice a day, and 50u of novalog... mostly b/c of my ISF... Long story short, Couldn't get BGs below 400 for months no matter what I did... my meter was very fond of saying "hi" to me... I never felt like talking back to it though, except the occasional 'shut up!'

my average basal is between 30 and 35 units(we've been tweaking a ton) and my bolus average seems to be between 15 and 25 units most days, it was 38 for one day this month, though.

7 months out, I am still very much honeymooning. On MDI my TDD was between 22-24(depending on the amount of carbs).

Now that I started pumping though...it has dropped down to 15-18 units a day:confused:. I tend to use more bolus then basal now as well. Also the last few days I have been running unusually lower...can't tell if it is more unknown 'd-stuff', or if the test study I did in August is just now kicking in.

It runs from 5 to about a 100, and in the last month I'd say it's been around 35.
The things is, my basal needs when I don't have a bad cold (so say 2/3rd of the time) are only around 8 units. So on 8 units Lantus, I would probably eat about 30 uncovered carbs over the day. But if I had a more normal day and ate 250 carbs, I'd take 20-30 units of Novolog, plus the 8 units Lantus. And if it was the sort of day were I pigged out and age 400 carbs, I could easily take 60 units of Novolog. To complicate matters, if I had a cold, I could need about 30 units of Lantus for 0 carbs through the day, with 30 units Lantus plus about 60 units Novolog if I wanted to eat much.

healthy day plus little food = TTD<10
sick day plus lots of food = TDD>100.
healthy day plus normal food = TDD ~ 35

In the last 24 hours, I took 4 units Novolog for last night's supper, 11 units Lantus, and 15 Novolog for breakfast, so 30 units in the last 24 hours, with about 140 carbs for breakfast plus 20 when I went hypo midmorning, plus about 40 as snacks yesterday and about 100 for supper last night, adds up 300 carbs for 30 units in the past 24 hours. Pretty pretty.
My weight in kilograms is between 45 and 50.

Sunni- with that TDD you have insulin resistance. Have you talked about it with your doctor? Maybe you could try metformin?
Also, for people with a TDD of 200 or higher, U-500 can really help with absorption. At least, I've read good things about it. Maybe worth a shot? (Get it, a shot?)

What's your ISF, by the way? How much does one unit lower your blood sugar?

23...ish bolus, could be upwards of 40 on the weekends because of eating out though(gotta love them 120+ carb meals!)

so I would say an average TDD between 48-53
