I'm a SAHM for about 7 years now and totally hate it. Loathe it. No offense to other SAHMers, but it just doesn't fit my personality. I used to work in banking, in the account opening and legal section (we've got special banking laws here). Loved that job. Lots of paper and details. My favorite part of work was right before I started. I would go to the nearby cafe and have a coffee with my colleagues. I miss that.

SAHM. Most days love it. Some days wonder "what the h3ll was I thinking!?" Previously worked in child care, and part time clarinet/sax teacher. Currently, along with being a SAHM, am cogitating over what to do when Kira goes to school full time...... ain't gonna be anymore kids so gotta do something productive......
Have been a SAHM since getting married 16 yrs ago (found out 1 week before the wedding that I was 3 months pregnant!) Before that I worked in childcare for 6 yrs, went to UK and worked in a rubber factory making rubber toy moulds and the occasional kinky clothing item for the asian market! Right now I enjoy being a kept woman!
I'm a SAHM too, been that way since Sean was born, with a short foray back into work force for about a year or so till I became pregnant with Mike, and after he was born, never went back. Before that, worked in a bank. Actually lots of banks... Trust Company of N.J. (HR), Lloyds Bank Plc in NYC (admin. ass't.), Central Fidelity in Alexandria and Leesburg, VA which became Wachovia (commercial loan documentation specialist). Now I do freelance writing/editing, mostly financial stuff (got a degree in finance from University of Maryland). Work is currently slow, but by choice, at least until the kids all go back to school and then I'll start looking for more work.
Do you snore? People fall asleep all the time, my fave are the people who are so relaxed they snore so loud the entire office can hear them!!
I asked my DH about this, being that he hates anything dental-ish. He said "She whaaaat? You must be joking. Let me read. OMG! F***! Crazy!" I must say I find it...different.
I'm a SAHM. Have been for 6 years. With Mark I stayed home for almost the first year. Mary was the first 7 months. Before that I was a waitress and cook for Waffle House. I was going to gointo the assistant manager job but they PO'ed me and I told them what to do. I worked for them on and off for 9 years with the time off when I had the kids. I loved working with the customers but hated the job. I have worked in a pharmacy. I love being a SAHM most of the time. I do wish I could find something to do at home though to help financially. DH is a mechanic. This is why my car is the last thing to get worked on.
I am a stay at home mom. I might go back to work when my girls are much older, but right now I feel my job is here at home.
I'm a biologist. Basically, I produce and manage mutant mouse lines for research in Immunology. It's a cool job. Kirsten
I am a SAHM Monday thru Thursday, Friday thru Sunday I work at Applebee's as a bartender. It's a good job for me I think, I like to socialize and this way I get paid for it. It is also nice to get home around time to do a 2 a.m. bg check. That way I can check and then have a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. LOL.
I'm an underwriter for a subsidiary of United Healthcare in Las Vegas. Specifically, I work for Health Plan of Nevada. As an underwriter I asses the risk for groups that want insurance and determine the premium rates they should have. We deal with the sales office almost exclusively, so that part of my job is the "fun" part. I say "fun" meaning the sales people can be a pain in the a$$ sometimes! I do enjoy my job, been doing it for 13 years now. I REALLY enjoy my co-workers, the other underwriters. They make it easy for me to go to work every day.
I am a private duty pediatric nurse I work 56 hrs a week taking care of 1 client. I actually graduated from nursing school exactly one week prior to Jared's Dx before that I was a SAHM from the time my oldest was about a year old. I also groomed dogs out of my home, I actually went to school for dog grooming and vet assisting prior to having kids, but decided I wanted to help People instead, They don't bite, well usually LOL. I love my job but I think I will go back to school once the boys are older and get my CDE.
I'm a SAHSD, "stay at home software developer". I produce civil engineering design/drafting software for AutoCAD, a company in the US. I worked for them in New Hampshire for about 10 yrs but moved back to Canada in 2000 and I'm still doing the same job for them from my home near Ottawa.
Right now, I'm a SAHM. I used to work retail (salesperson, then management) in my other life, and for some reason I really liked it. I'm not exactly a people-person, but I enjoyed the job and was good at what I did. I miss it every once in a while. I would like to eventually get a degree and an out-of-the-house job. I would love to be an illustrator or graphic designer.
I work for the state of Texas in a Juvenile Correctional Facility. When I first started here 4 years ago, I was a Correctional Officer, after about a year, decided that was not for me, and we had an administrative assistant job open up.. So now I am an admin assistant here.. Basically I do all the big wigs work but they get paid for it..
Im a stay at home Mom right now. Before my oldest was born I worked at many jobs including, picking mushrooms (legal kind) bartending, DJing, cleaning houses, day care, lab tech (worked with chickens and their diseases, smelly things!) Worked outside cleaning state parks and forests.
I'm a sales distributor, I sell Rainbow cleaning systems. I also sell AD space for the local newspaper where I live. I love these jobs, not just because it's fun. But I get all the perks of being a SAHM and make money too. Rainbow is mostly evenings and weekends when I want to work, and the AD space is done mostly when the boys are at school. The only down side (and it's a big one) is that neither come with health Ins.
