Thought I'd start a new thread on this since we were all talking about the SATC movie. Just to show you how strange I am, these are my favorites.

    The Right Stuff
    Alien (the original)
    The Last Emperor
    Europa Europa
    Nosferatu (1922 version)
Polyester (an early John Waters film and my favorite comedy of all time)
    All of Garbo's silent films
    Amadeus
    Young Frankenstein

I have ecclectic and strange taste.

Maybe I should be ashamed to admit it, but I really enjoyed "Beavis and Butthead Do America."

Is IQ the one where Walter Matthau plays Einstein? I always wanted to see that.

Speaking of bad movies with lots of special effects, I absolutely despised "Independence Day." I cannot stand unrealistic films, and I also hated the one made by the same people that made "Independence Day" - it was about the weather going crazy on Earth and starred Dennis Quaid - I forget the name. It was horrible!!

What's kinda' funny about that (except for the fact that it's a true and tragic story that took place here in Mass.) is the the ship is the Andrea Gail. I'm Andrea and my mom's name is Gail, so my hubby and dad get a big kick out of that. We'll go out shopping for the day and when we come in with a ton of bags. they'll say, "here comes the perfect storm!" ;)

    Beaches
    The Shawshank Redemption
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (so funny!!)
The Money Pit - (Just because of one certian scene where Tom Hanks is
laughing hysterically because the bathtub falls through the

Wow, Shawshank Redemption is on a lot of lists. That's a really great flick. I'm sorry, but I hated the Star Wars films - they reminded me of muppet movies with special effects. Yoda has the same voice as Miss Piggy.

    All-time #1 favorite:
The Ultimate Gift -- Haven't seen it? GET IT! ;)

    Almost anything Jane Austin....
A&E's Pride and Prejudice (the one with Colin Firth!)
Sense and Sensibility -- both versions
    Emma -- both versions
    Persuasion (seeing a trend, here?)

And OF COURSE all three Lord of the Rings movies.

    And...
    The Princess Bride (INCONCEIVABLE!!)
    Phantom of the Opera
    Memoirs of a Geisha
    Singin' in the Rain
Alien and Aliens (but NOT the 3rd and 4th movies -- YUCK!)

    "Que es un "Wolverine?"

"It is a small creature like a badger, but terribly ferocious. It is also the name of the local sports collective."
