I had posted back in July about my daughter. She was checking out her dad's meter and it showed around 350. She went to her dr who said she DIDN'T have diabetes, but some kind of infection causing the high bg.

Her A1C was 9.6 and her pc finally gave her a referral to an endo. He told her to eat whatever she wanted, just take her meds (500 mg of metformin twice daily) as diets don't work/help.

She finally got into another endo in Nov. He placed her on 1,000 mg metformin twice daily and Byetta twice daily.

Her A1C last week was a 6.2. That's quite a drop. Her new endo said that they will have to start lowering her meds soon because she is starting to have lows.

It really amazes me how some drs really have no idea of what they are treating.

You don't have to tell me about it! It's the story of my life.

I am glad your daughter found a doctor who is treating her.
