two diabetics on one NHL hockey team?!

    Yep you read it right. The Tampa Bay Lightning have not one, but two diabetics on their team. I was at a game in Pittsburgh, and noticed the athletic trainer giving BJ Crombeen something that looked REALLY similar to glucose tablets, but didn't really say anything because I wasn't sure. But, a couple weeks about when the Pens played the Lightning again, one of the TV announcers mentioned something about BJ, but the other one noted Cory Conacher was diabetic too. My mom and I both went "Whaaaa!???:eek:" lol I found a couple articles on line. I thought it was way to awesome not to share!

    That's great! It makes diabetes seem even less rare if two people on one team have it.

    The article was good, too, in the way it talked about diabetes as only one part of his story. I'm not so sure about the "permanent port in his abdomen," though.
