We have always been told to make a basal change 2 hours before the desired time and this is what we have been doing. Reading over Gary's book, he says 1 hour for kids so of course that got me thinking. Do you adjust your basals 1 or 2 hours before?

3-3.5 hours, depending on the time of day. It took me a year to realize that his advice on this topic was way off for my son. It took a leap of faith and some experimentation, but once I figured it out, adjustments became much more effective!

I adjust where I see the rise STARTING...
I have always heard the however many hours prior to the highs, but what works best for me is just to see when I start rising, and adjust that segment of my basal rate...
Helps to have a CGM when doing basal testing / basal adjustments...
