I want all of you to just stop for a second and think about all you do in a day for your kids. Your kids with diabetes that is, not even taking into consideration the other kids that are non-d. Are you thinking about it? No I mean really think! think about the tests, the meter beeps, the shots, the site changes, the basal tests, the looking for a better adhesive, the checking for ketones, the record keeping, the endo visits, the calls to the endo for advice, the carb counting, the food prep, the food weighing and counting teddy grahams and measuring, the keeping life normal, the smiling when you may not feel like it, the tears, the worrys, the dreams, the fears, the what ifs, the whys, the hopes, the highs, the lows, the good #s, the not so good #s, the night, the sleep, hopefully the sleep. Dont any of you dare sell yourselves short!! That means you Mandi. I am in awe of all of you, so therefore I must be in awe of myself. Thats hard to do with self esteem such as mine. I never thought I measured up but Ive been doing ok with diabetes. Ive been keeping my son alive and healthy and happy. Not bad for a farm girl from the sticks of CT. I know we all have days when we dont feel to good about the job we're doing. Please come in here and talk to someone about it. We know that we all our doing the best we can. That will always be enough

i love this too and thank you. no one on the outside truely understands what we do every minute of every day. even our spouses sometimes. i will never fail my girl but it is exhausting. thank you for reminding me of how strong we are. it is hard to keep that in mind when people ssay just relax she is fine. it's not that big of a life change, yeah whatever. again thank you and to all the other care givers of diabetic children i love you too for all you do.

Becky girl....How do you manage to make me smile and cry at the same time?
    Thanks you so much.....

...and yes I do feel in adaquate(i posted it somewhere else not on CWD) in dealing with D care. I am in awe at some of you on here and disguested(sp?) at some of you on the knowledge you have that I don't about D care. I know....get over my pity party and move on...and I should I guess. And yes I have read the recommended books...I have searched countless nights for info on the internet.....And yes I know maybe a CGM would help us out with Tresston's numbers....but insurance wont cover..and unless I want to live in my garage the rest of my life....we don't have the money for it out of pocket....so there is my vent....

    Becky...thank you so much girl.:cwds:

According to my stepdaughter, I sit on my as- all day and do nothing...
Absoultely nothing...even when my daughter blasted her for that comment..about having to deal with a type 1 3 year old...her reply..."well she dont do that either"...hmmmm...Then who is?? The insulin wizard?

    I needed this!

There is currently a lot of drama in my life. Sometimes I wonder if I am making a difference in the lives of my children. Then this post comes along to remind me that each daily task matters.

My children (D and non-D) may not show appreciation or respond positively to my parenting. But, I must remain constant in my pursue of enabling them to be healthy in every sense of the word physically, spiritually, emotionally and otherwise. They may not "get it" right now - but it is so worth all the efforts.

    Thanks Becky!

Thank you Becky. This came at a much needed time as I'm doubting my abilities in dealing with Caleb's D.
