Zach has been wearing his pump site on his bottom since he got a pump (6 years) We have finally convinced him to move it to his tummy, plus we just requested a Dexcom GGM. Doctor recommended Synera, but it is pretty expensive. Anyone know if it is better than EMLA cream? TIA
I have not heard of Synera. We have not used Emla in years. Since we switched to 6mm sets. My kids say Dexcom doesn't really hurt going in. Maybe try it without?
It is basically just emla on a patch. You can just get the generic emla and cover it with tegaderm or plastic wrap.
We used Synera in the beginning because my son had gotten it for a CAT scan and it was fabulous. If it wasn't so expensive, we would totally keep using it. However, it is expensive so my son uses tattoo cream and Tegaderm and my daughter uses a freeze spray.
