This is something new for us. Suddenly and without any logical reasons for the past days my son has been very high most of the time. We aren't new dealing with diabetes but this is something surprising. Before his needs were increasing gradually but this time is BANG all of a sudden. Any suggestions? Could it be the heat?

We are having the same experience! I feel suddenly totally inept. Increased morning basal from .7 to .8 and decreased carbs from 16 to 14 and he still went to 235 and hung there till lunch.

It is in the air! Spring? I just increased my son's carb ratio to 1:10 across the board. If that doesn't work - up goes the basal.

My son is a teenager so I blame everything on growth hormones ;) but I imagine a growth spurt could be just as likely for a 5yo?

He might be two inches taller at the end of the month :)
