A new study is underway to investigate a drug to preserve beta cell function in newly diagnosed people ages 6-21. The study is called T1GER. From their web site: The purpose of the T1GER clinical research study is to determine the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication in children and young adults with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes. The investigational medication is being tested to find out if it can maintain beta cell (insulin-producing) function in the pancreas of those newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. For study center locations and more information see: https://www.t1gerstudy.com
I wrote a blog about that study here: http://cureresearch4type1diabetes.blogspot.com/2016/10/golimumab-simponi-starts-phase-ii-trial.html Joshua
